Highlights from the 2026 Student Film Festival
"IT'S A WRAP"! Film Fest 2026 was a big success showcasing over 30 short films to a crowd of almost 300, including community members and parents. The show was peppered with poetry voiceovers, racing cars, horror and crime, romance, friendship, soaring planes, a chicken action hero and a protagonist born with her brain outside her body.
Marking the 24th Annual Student Film Fest on Friday April 3rd; student filmmakers, their crew, and friends walked the red carpet of the historic Sebastiani Theatre to watch all the films they had created.
Students were greeted with Breakfast ( homegrown bagels ), endless popcorn, soft drinks, and a pizza lunch in the park- all sponsored through the generosity of The Sonoma International Film Festival - Young Filmmakers Fund. Weather was sunny, calm and 70 degrees. The energy in the crowd was enthusiastic- a celebration of creativity and of each other's efforts. The crowd erupted in applause, howls, laughter, gasps, and cheers as the movies rolled on. I was exceedingly proud how respectful this crowd of teens handled themselves.
